LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- A little more 28 years ago, the city purchased the Lafollette Centennial Clock from the Verdin Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, at a cost of $17,000.00.

Verdin Company along with help from the Lafollette Fire Department’s ladder truck, used as a crane, set the clock on Monday, June 2, 1997, at the corner where it stood until yesterday. It was erected to celebrate Lafollette’s 100th birthday. That celebration was held Saturday, June 7, 1997, at the dedication of Freeman Centennial Park in honor of Dr. James P. Freeman, a former mayor, and wife Joyce.

Public Works crew members had a tough task on Tuesday.

Below are a couple of memory photos.
