JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- At its Tuesday meeting, Campbell County Board of Education members approved a December 1st deadline for the contractor and the architect to come to an agreement on the completion date of the gym project at Jacksboro Elementary School.

The board’s attorney Dale Cantrell said the BOE had received a draft proposal from the general contractor on the project, and that he had reviewed it.

“I think it is a good faith effort to step forward … you do have to have an agreement between your general contractor and your architect… before you move and do anything, you are going to have to make sure your general contractor and your architect are in line with the completion date,” Cantrell said. He suggested the board drop a deadline to work towards getting the project completed.

School Board Chairman Jeffrey Miller said he had been part of the meetings trying to find a solution. He thanked GCE and Lewis Group for “being there” as well as the director and the maintenance supervisor for working on these meetings.

“We just want the gym done, with everything that has transpired, do you think having a December 1 deadline for the architect and the contractor to come to an agreement on the completion date, you are far apart on the completion date, and we need that ironed out somehow,” Miller said.

This was approved unanimously. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-11/19/2025-6AM)
