Cougars stop late Oliver Springs rally for first win

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Campbell opened the new basketball season with a home win over Oliver Springs on Tuesday night.

Will Croley, Jake Hatmaker, Jack Sexton and Hunter Dotson tallied double-digit scoring; Croley 16, Hatmaker 15, Sexton 12, 10 in the second half, Dotson 11. Koalton Cupp had six points while five each came from Caden Heatherly and Sam Sexton as Braydon Graham chipped in two. Asher Foust played and did not score.

The Cougars held a large lead at 19 only to see Oliver Springs claw back after being down 55 to 36 to tighten it up. Campbell pulled away with a 72-61 victory.

Campbell is 1 & 0 while Oliver Springs is 0 & 1.

The Cougars host Lenoir City on Thursday night at 7:30 on Brown Court.
