JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Conda Maiden, one of the founding members of the Volunteer White Oak Fire Department, was recognized by county commissioners at Monday’s evening.

Maiden has served as the secretary and treasurer for the fire department since 1985.

“He has been a service to the White Oak Community. He is a founding member and has been with them ever since and still serves in that capacity to this day and it is hard to find that kind of dedication and the people of White Oak really appreciate you,” Lynch said.

“He is a light to many and is grounded in his love of his community,” Lynch said.

Maiden said he was surprised and humbled and said many others deserved the recognition more than he did. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-11/18/2025-6AM)
