An empty Campbell County School Bus caught fire and burned

Bus 40 was lost to fire on Saturday morning.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Campbell County School Bus 40 was totally destroyed by fire early on Saturday morning.

Firefighters with the Campbell County Rural Fire Service and mutual aid firefighters with the La Follette Fire Department were dispatched at 7:03am Saturday to Pleasant Drive in the Pleasant Ridge community. The bus was fully involved as firefighters arrived on the scene.

It was very smoky and foggy as firefighters extinguished a Saturday bus fire.

Bus 40 was an active bus running a route for the Campbell County School District, according to one official.

The bus was not occupied at the time of the fire.

There were no injuries.

Bus 40 was a total loss.
