
JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- On Thursday afternoon, the Town of Jacksboro Board of Mayor and Aldermen met with an unusually long agenda.
The first item approved was Ordinance 138 which pertains to industrial sewer use. Next was Resolution 378 that allows the town to opt out of the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System for part time employees. Resolution 379 amending the 2025-26 budget was approved.
The board approved declaring surplus items for the library and police department.
Brett Russell was hired as an auxiliary police officer.
The board discussed a new reporting system for crime statistics for the police department.
In final business, the board approved Dan Gearing to be acting city recorder and placing a guardrail on Main Street at the Bobby Baird property. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-10/07/2025-6AM)
