Campbell County’s third McDonald’s is poised to open in October

Touch up painting and chalking are going on at the soon-to-open McDonald’s.

LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- LaFollette is only weeks away from the much anticipated McDonald’s on the corner of West Central Avenue and South 5th Street. For years, talk of the fast food chain putting down roots in LaFollette swirled. Now, thanks to Farris Properties, LLC and Rex Adams- Construction Superintendent, talk is becoming a reality.

It’s a rare moment catching Rex Adams in his mobile office. He’s usually all across the campus during the construction of LaFollette’s new McDonald’s.

Adams, a man who could build a McDonald’s in his sleep, is entering his 41st year in the business this week. He has been the guiding force behind the quick construction of the LaFollette location.

The concrete work is about 95% complete.
This McDonald’s will have an app order pick up parking area, and this is to be wired with electric sensors.

Giving WLAF an exclusive tour of the restaurant in the making, Hale said the eatery will feature a new “sideway” design. For the LaFollette location that means the counter will face the four lane. The sleek, modern designed building will feature a double drive through and spaces for those who placed mobile orders.

The base for the golden arches sign has been poured at the corner of West Central Avenue and South 5th Street.
Here are some of the electricians on site.

The concrete frame has been poured for the ground area with asphalt expected to come soon. Hiring for the location has started as well.

Walk-in freeze built on site
This is the main electrical panel, and more than 15,000 feet of wire is being used on this job.

The expected open date is mid-October, according to Hale.

The drive thru area concrete work was just completed.

The counter faces West Central Avenue and looks into the dining area that will seat around 25 customers. Drive-thru customers, about 80% of McDonald’s business, will travel down the south side of the building toward town to pick up their orders.
