Dr. Clarence Duncan’s successor is his oldest son, Rev. Rick Duncan

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- “I was called to Bethel Baptist Church 42 years to the day this past Sunday, and on my anniversary, the church called my son, Rick to be its next pastor,” said Dr. Clarence Duncan.

Rick Duncan has pastored churches in Tennessee, Georgia and North Carolina, and earned his Bachelor of Theology from Tabernacle Baptist School at Greenville, South Carolina.

At the age of 20 is when Rick Duncan began his pastoral ministry as the assistant pastor of Corinth Baptist Church at Stone Mountain, Georgia. All total, he has 53 years in the ministry.

Bethel Baptist Church is at 368 Asbury Road, Jacksboro.

The younger Duncan has filled the Bethel Baptist Church pulpit for his father since earlier in the year when Dr. Duncan suffered an extended illness.

Bethel Baptist Church is located at the top of Hatmaker Ridge at Jacksboro. There’s a sign of where to turn off from old Highway 25W.

Service times are 10am for Sunday School and Sunday morning worship begins at 11. There are also services Sunday nights at six and Wednesday nights at seven. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-08/12/2025-6AM)
