Indicted last week by a Campbell County Grand Jury
CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN. (WLAF)- An alcohol fueled episode has resulted in a five count indictment for Scotty Foust.
Last week, a Campbell County Grand Jury indicted Foust for attempted second degree murder, reckless aggravated assault, aggravated assault, and two counts employing a firearm with intent to go armed (dangerous felony.)
The charges are a result of an incident that occurred in March.
Foust was outside his ex-wife’s home at Oak Grove when he allegedly shot two people.
The couple had “been spilt up for several years” but Foust continued to attempt to garner her attention, according to the arrest report. On March 16, in the early morning hours, he made another attempt to get her to notice him. This time she called police. When Campbell County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived, they discovered a truck with a busted driver’s window, but Foust wasn’t there.
The ex-wife told police she “rarely” interacted with him because of his drinking. On this particular morning, Foust had allegedly mixed cocaine with his alcohol, the report said.
The people inside the home, the ex-wife and two other adults, said Foust had been outside the home “revving his truck for hours.” The man inside the home has gone outside once to tell Foust to stop. He agreed he would. However, that didn’t happen. Instead, he started revving the engine again, the report said.
When the two other adults went to him again, he allegedly shot them. The couple ran back to the home and locked the doors. Foust persisted in trying to enter the home.
When police arrived, Foust wasn’t there, but a pool of blood was in the home. The female was loaded into a patrol car to seek medical care. The male insisted on staying at the home.
CCSO staff began searching for Foust who was thought to have fled into the woods.
A ping of his cell phone confirmed he was still in the area, the report said.
Foust was eventually located by a shed. He was “soaking wet” with the gun about a foot away from him. There was also a bottle of alcohol next to him. He had “blood shot eyes “ and allegedly smelled like alcohol. Foust couldn’t walk by himself and stumbled down the hill before officers helped him, the report said. He was also “slurring his words” and asking for his money.
Foust will be arraigned in criminal court on Aug. 4.
