East Tennessee Regional Leadership Class visits Campbell County

CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN (WLAF)- Campbell County hosted East Tennessee Regional Leadership on June 25. The topic for the day was “Health and Wellness” specifically “Mental Awareness from Children to Veterans.”
The day kicked off at 8 am at the Roane State Community College Campbell County campus conference room with breakfast sponsored by La Follette Utilities Board. Speakers included Campbell County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Executive Director Missy Tackett, Campbell County Vice Mayor Randy Brown, and La Follette Utilities General Manager Regina Kennedy. Speakers highlighted Health care facilities for mental health care as well as outdoor tourism opportunities “to refresh your spirit.”

Other speakers included Campbell County Children’s Center Director Tracie Davis, as well as Michael Yates, Director of the Ridge View Mobile Unit, along with Roane State Campbell County campus Director Sharon Wilson, Katelyn Lee with Community Health of East Tennessee and E.L. Morton with the East Tennessee Human Resources Agency.

Leadership East Tennessee members then traveled to Tennova-La Follette Hospital where they heard from speakers Jessica Muse, Chief Nursing Officer and Sarah Lloyd, Chief Operations Officer.
Lunch was provided by Tennova-La Follette Medical Center at the La Follette Methodist Church.

After lunch, Leadership members toured UT LIFESTAR’s facility at the Campbell County Airport where they heard from J.R. Gore, UT LIFESTAR Instructor Coordinator.

Wednesday’s tour included a trip to Indian River Marina hosted by Brandi Leeck.
Naomi Asher provided an Enneagram presentation on managing conflict.

The day finished at Cove Lake State Park with speaker Casey Hatmaker, the park manager, who spoke on the “benefits of unplugging from work and the tech world to enjoy nature.”

It was a great day!â€
