WINTER STORM WARNING for Friday morning through Saturday morning

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Accumulating snow is headed toward Campbell County on Friday. We’ll likely see snow develop by sun up Friday with the the timing for the arrival of the bulk of the snow by 11am or soon thereafter.

..WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM FRIDAY TO 7 AM SATURDAY…

* WHAT...Snow will begin by mid to late morning, moderate to heavy at times this afternoon and evening.  The snow may mix with sleet or possibly freezing rain for areas east of interstate 81 and 75 this afternoon. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches west of interstate 81 and 75, and 2 to 4 inches east.  Ice accumulations around a light glaze.

* WHERE…Portions of Campbell County, east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.

* WHEN…From 10 AM EST this morning to 7 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS…Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road   conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.

* PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1. Persons should consider delaying all travel.
