LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- A manhunt stemming from a knife attack on a female victim continues this morning. “We are diligently following up and working on all leads on the suspect,” said La Follette Police Chief Matthew Forsyth.

The suspect, Alejandro Mancera Canchola, continues being tracked three weeks and a day after he allegedly slashed his girlfriend with a knife inside their South Ave. home.

“We are working with numerous agencies to capture the individual.  There’s no information leading us in any direction.  We have nothing to say he has or hasn’t left the area,” said Forsyth.

“Canchola is considered a very dangerous man,” said Forsyth. The chief confirmed Canchola is wanted out of Mexico.

The woman has been communicating with law enforcement, according to Forsyth. An apparent domestic situation escalated on the morning of Tues., Dec. 17, at the couple’s home at 412 South Avenue. Canchola allegedly attacked the woman as the situation escalated, according to reports.

This is the home where police say Canchola slashed his girlified with a knife.

“We have an arrest warrant in hand for Canchola as we vigorously attempt to locate him. We have a whole lot of man power on the hunt including agents with the U.S. Marshall’s Service,” said Forsyth.

Alejandro Mancera Canchola was last seen driving a white 2008 Toyota Corolla with Tennessee license plate 084 BNWN, according to La Follette Police Capt. Charles Duff.
