McDonald’s request was one of three passing at recent planning commission meeting

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The LaFollette Regional Planning Commission held its monthly meeting last Thursday afternoon at City Hall.

Up first on the agenda was a site plan review for property located at 2002 Jacksboro Pike. Faculty Physicians is looking to renovate the existing structure of what was previously Long John Silvers. Codes officer Stuart Hurwitz approved of the plan. The motion passed.

This is a look at the back of the Faculty Physicians clinic that’s now in what was once the Long John Silvers building on Jacksboro Pike, near Tim Short Ford.

Boardwalk Storage asked the commission to take three lots and combine them into one located at 1712 East Central Avenue, across from Food Lion. There were no problems with it according to Hurwitz. The motion passed.

McDonald’s Corporation applied to begin demolition and then construction at its new location at 237 West Central Avenue, between First Baptist Church and Main Street Shell. The motion passed.

Lastly, a variance request that was tabled last month was brought forth. Aaron Kulas is asking for a variance request for a building/garage in the front of his property on Claiborne Road. According to Hurwitz, the owner already has one noncompliant structure in the front of his property. Planning Commission Member Lynn Letner motioned to reject the request and suggested that owner Kalus meet with Hurwitz to see about forming a new plan.
