JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- The Campbell County Board of Education recognized the county’s educators of the year at Tuesday’s meeting held at the Campbell County Courthouse. Each teacher present at the meeting was presented with an award.

Elementary School Teacher of the Year was John Philpot from Jacksboro Elementary. Middle School Teacher of the Year was Jeanna Newport, who was unable to attend. High School Teacher of the Year was Lisa Copeland at Campbell County High School. Principal of the Year was Ben Foust from CCHS, who was also unable to attend. Assistant Principal of the Year was Troy Arnold at CCHS and Supervisor of the Year was Traci Chambers, who has taken on the role of supervisor of transportation, maintenance and the district’s Career and Technical Education programs.

Campbell County BOE board chair Jeffrey Miller congratulated everyone who received this honor and told them to “keep up the good work.”

Director of Schools Jennifer Fields said this was something the school district did each year, and that it was important to recognize the excellent teachers that Campbell County has throughout its district.

“Every school is fortunate to have some of the most outstanding teachers that I would put up against any educator in the state of Tennessee. You all are exceptional. I have had three children go through the Campbell County School System and I couldn’t be more proud of the education they received here. I have worked alongside many of you as a colleague and as the director of your schools and I couldn’t be more proud to get to celebrate you,” Director Fields said.

She said there is “no greater honor than to be voted on and selected by your peers.” (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-12/11/2024-6AM)
