Stolen license plate picked up on Flock camera, nets an arrest

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- On Nov. 2, a report was made about an incident involving a stolen license plate. On Nov. 4, the stolen plate was picked up on the Flock camera.

The license plate was attached to a silver Chrysler Crossfire in the area near Campbell County High School. On the same day around 2 pm, the Crossfire was seen at 1827 Old Jacksboro Pike. LaFollette Police Officer Timothy Collingsworth confirmed through dispatch that the tag was stolen. After receiving confirmation, Collingsworth attempted to contact the residents at the address. He was able to locate Greg Walden who was asleep in a white Dodge Ram. LaFollette Police Officer Cory Lawson woke Walden up. It was discovered that he had two active warrants through Campbell County. Walden was arrested and placed in handcuffs.

Walden told Officer Collingsworth that he had found a blue container on the ground when he got out of the truck. He told Officer Collingsworth that he did not know what was in it.

Collingsworth retrieved the bottle from Walden’s left pock. Inside the bottle were several baggies, one containing a large amount of white crystal like substance. Two additional bags were located in the driver’s seat of the truck, each containing a white crystal like substance, and a digital scale. A paper napkin with a green leafy substance was also found in the dash.

Walden, 53, 903 Perkins Lane, Jacksboro was charged with capias/bench warrant, possession of schedule VI controlled substance, mfg/del/sell schedule II controlled substance and felony possession. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-11/21/2024-6AM)
