La Follette Public Works and La Follette Fire Department crews have extra work on Monday

Here are before and after photos of the backed up stream. The top photo was taken after a good amount of dammed up water had been pumped away. The photo below was taken after the dam had been cleared away.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Beavers recently built a dam of the stream that emerges from the cave next to the La Follette House. The dam was at the culvert that goes under South Indiana Avenue. The stream, when not damned, flows out into Big Creek (Ollis Creek).

KNOXVILLE, TN (WLAF)- A new Cougar band program has started at Campbell County High School for the indoor wind ensemble to compete in East Tennessee Performing Arts Association competitions (ETPAA). The circuit includes winter guard, indoor percussion, and indoor winds. The new program was started by CCHS Band Director Tiffany Braden.

JELLICO, TN (WLAF)- “All you want to do this time of year is win, and we got that accomplished tonight,” said Jellico Head Basketball Coach Mike Reynolds after his team’s Saturday night victory.

Five Jellico Blue Devils scored in double-figures while nine total Devils made it into the scoring column. Trey Vann led the charge with 18 points as Jellico soundly defeated Greenback 88 to 51. Watch the full telecast HERE on demand from WLAF.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- The Regional Campbell County Planning Commission met on Monday evening, approving multiple minor lot subdivisions and tabling a decision on a preliminary plat for a major lot subdivision until next month.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN. (WLAF)- On March 10, at 7pm, at the old West LaFollette School, the public can hear from a host of candidates seeking office.

Experts expect more increases at the pump

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The price of gasoline, regular unleaded, increased by a dime on Monday here in La Follette. The price went from $2.29 a gallon to $2.39.

There’s a change of schedule. Campbell will now host Clinton in soccer on Tuesday at 5pm.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- The Cougars were scheduled to visit Cumberland Gap on Monday afternoon to open the 2026 baseball season. However, inclement weather forced the game to be postponed. Instead, the first game of the season for Campbell is set for 5:30 at Brown-Archer Field.

HARRIMAN, TN (WLAF)- It was a fabulous February for Campbell County High School band students, with high scores at multiple competitions, as well as specialty performances by some students in regional honor bands.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- On Thursday, February 26, 2026, following a three-day trial, a Campbell County jury found Holly Daugherty, 28, of La Follette, Tennessee, guilty of three counts of Aggravated Child Abuse of a Child Under 8. The convictions stem from abuse inflicted upon her three-month-old twin sons.
