JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Director of Schools Jennifer Fields announced three new school supervisors were added this year at Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting.

Former secondary schools supervisor Dr. Jason Horne took another position as assistant director of operations in another district. After his departure, Campbell County combined the Career and Technical Education (CTE) and the Secondary Position for Traci Chambers “who was already in place” as the CTE supervisor.

Josh Parker is taking the Maintenance and Transportation Supervisor position. He previously served as the CTE coach at Campbell High.

Charlotte McCoy will be serving as the Special Education Director for Campbell County Schools.

Melissa Davis is over the Family Resource Center, Pre-K and the after-school programs and home counseling. She replaces Dr. Rita Goins.

In other updates, Director Fields announced the Jellico High School Football Field Turf project was underway and going well and that the “dirt was being hauled off” currently.

She also said the Elk Valley Stem Lab would be completed this week, after a fire last Sept., and that the Jellico Elementary heat and air units had been installed. The roof projects at Caryville and LaFollette Elementary Schools are on schedule to be completed in August or the first of September. The Jellico Elementary School gym floor is expected to be installed in early September, and the installment of the bleachers will take place the first part of November.

“We held a preconstruction meeting at Jacksboro Elementary School, and the groundbreaking on that project will begin next Tuesday plus the CCHS cafeteria renovations have been completed,” Fields said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/10/2024-6AM)
