Thelma Marie Davis, age 84 of LaFollette, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on February 5, 1940, to the late William Davis and Vestie (York) Davis. Thelma was of the Church of God Faith and enjoyed crossword puzzles, flowers, her dogs, going to the lake, and her church family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Arrie Davis Sr.; son Arrie Davis Jr.; daughters Karen Lay and Jackie Davis; brothers James, Willie, Lex, and Lewis Davis; sisters Linda Kerschner, Phyllis Hamblin, Betty Hoskins, and Alma Teague; grandchildren David Combs and Eric Partin.
Thelma is survived by her sons Johnny Davis of LaFollette and Robert “Goober†Davis of Jacksboro; daughters Sharon Partin of Frakes, KY, Glenna Rutherford of Jacksboro; and Cathy Johnson of Jacksboro; very special granddaughter Amanda Anderson; brothers Jerry Davis of LaFollette and Johnny Davis of Dayton, OH; sisters Vertie Triplett of Ohio and Rosetta “Ro Ro†Davis of Jacksboro; 34 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, June 27, 2024, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home (305 East Beech Street, LaFollette) with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Jasper Walden officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:00 AM on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to Lamdin Cemetery in White Oak for a 10:00 AM interment.
