LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell County VA Clinic celebrated its 10th anniversary on Friday with an Open House at the Community Health of East Tennessee building where it is located.

Multiple vendors were set up outside for the event, including the county’s Veteran’s Affairs Services, the Knoxville Vet Center Mobile Unit, Million Vets, the V.A. Clinic and more.

Veterans and their families were invited to stop by for the event that ran from 10am until 2pm.

The Knoxville Vet Center Mobile Unit was at Friday’s Open House for the Campbell County Veteran’s Affairs Clinic at CHET.

State Representative Dennis Powers was at the event, along with County Vice Mayor Randy Brown. Representatives from Chuck Fleishmann’s and Senator Bill Haggerty’s offices were also on site.

The event was educational for veterans and provided information about various services in the county that the VA has to offer such as Enrollment, Connected Care, Million Veteran Program and Suicide Prevention and more.

According to Campbell County Veteran’s Director Shane Prater, the event went well, and there was a good turnout despite the heat of the day.

“Events like this are all about showing the resources that are out there and about bringing other resources to our community such as the Knoxville Vet Center,” Prater said.

The Knoxville Vet Center is active in three states and offers counseling, referrals, community engagement events, community support, practical and therapeutic services.
