End of the year insurance policy renewals topped the agenda for the county commission on Monday evening. 

Commissioners approved a multitude of insurance policies, several of which showed decreases.

All of the renewals were approved on the recommendation of the insurance committee. 

County Commissioners approved county insurance policy renewals and other business on Monday evening.

First to be approved was for the county’s medical insurance renewal. The Workman’s Comp insurance for the county was also renewed.

“It has a decrease of $39,000, it went down this time,” Commissioner Rusty Orick said. Orick is the chairman of the county’s insurance committee. 

The Workman’s Comp insurance renewal was also approved for the BOE. It also decreased by a little over $22,000.

Other business approved was a Board of Education Personal Computer System contract and a Scribbles software agreement for the BOE. 

An emergency management performance grant contract application was approved, as was a Cumberland Forest Grant contract application for Litter Control. 

A Brownfield grant contract for a media consultant was approved.  The grant will provide the funding for the consultant, according to County Mayor Jack Lynch. 

The reappointment of Jay Willoughby and Mike Freeman and the appointment of Regina Kennedy to the Industrial Development Board was approved. These appointments were recommended by County Mayor Jack Lynch.

Final business approved was the surplus sale of several vehicles from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department. 

According to Sheriff Wayne Barton, they are “working on an auction date now” and it will be announced soon,

The opioid abatement disbursement agenda item was postponed until the August commission meeting. 

Monday’s County Commission meeting was recessed until June 27 at 6:30pm to finalize the year end budget.
