LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – On Thursday night, a great crowd was on hand as Campbell County businesses were celebrated during the annual Campbell County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism banquet and awards dinner held Thursday night at the Ball Farm Event Center in LaFollette. Now when it comes to big events that take place in Campbell County throughout the year, the annual banquet and awards dinner is one of them, and it is something my girlfriend Candace West and I look forward to. In fact, it is the can’t miss event of the summer.

For this year’s event, the event began with the invocation delivered by Laura Byrge of Builtwell Bank while the National Anthem was sung by Vanessa Dupuy and her mother, Bobbie Archer (below).

The event featured a delicious dinner catered by Classy Threads & Catering, an awards ceremony and a powerful keynote address delivered by Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs.

During Mayor Jacobs’ keynote address at the banquet, he shared more about a four letter word – jobs. In his keynote address, Mayor Jacobs said that “it’s more than jobs, it’s good careers.” He also notes that “chambers of commerce and tourism are vital.”
