LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Last Thursday, around 11:30am, LaFollette Det.-Sgt. Noah Riggs saw a white Toyota traveling south on South Ave. near Canyon Lane. Riggs noticed the front windshield on the vehicle was shattered to the point it was causing issues with visibility. He also recognized the driver of the vehicle as Allen Darryl Davis from an active narcotics investigation and had prior knowledge that his driver’s license was revoked due to DUI. When Riggs ran the tag on the vehicle, it came back to a white Honda sedan but was on a white Toyota sedan.

Riggs turned on his emergency lights and siren as Davis was turning left onto West Central Ave near Cherry Street. Davis continued driving and made a right turn onto West Beech St. During this time, Det.-Sgt. Riggs could see Davis moving around in the vehicle. Davis continued east on West Beech Street for approximately three blocks before he pulled into 706 West Beech St.

When Davis stopped the car, the officer arrested him for driving on revoked driver’s license and felony evading arrest. While Riggs was conducting an inventory of the vehicle, he allegedly found two baggies in the cupholder, one had a crystal like substance believed to be Meth with an approximate weight of two grams. The other baggie had a white powdery substance believed to be Cocaine with an approximate weight of three grams. In the center console was a set of digital scales with a crystal like and white powder substance on it. Also in the center console was a plastic baggie that had been ripped open. Covering the back floorboard and the cracks of the center console was a white powdery substance, according to a report from the LaFollette Police Department. Riggs was unable to recover all of the white powdery substance in the torn baggie was able to determine an approximate weight of 49 grams.

After the inventory was completed, Davis allegedly admitted he had a “bag of dope” in his pants. Riggs removed a large baggie from inside his waistband with a white powder substance believed to be Cocaine with an approximate weight of 53 grams. Also in his pants pocket was a tied baggie with three blue pills. In Davis’ wallet was an unopened Suboxone film that he didn’t have a prescription for. Inside Davis wallet was $223 believed to be from drug sales.

Then Davis fell to the ground and began to flop on the lawn. Davis was checked by first responders and EMS but allegedly refused medical attention. Davis allegedly said “he sells it (drugs) for the money”.

Davis, 61, 359 College Hill Rd, LaFollette, was charged with driver’s failure to exercise due care, violation of registration law, felony evading arrest, driving on revoked/suspended, two counts mfg/del/sell schedule II controlled substance, possession schedule IV controlled substance, possession schedule III controlled substance, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence and open container law.
