JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell County School Board recognized Campbell County High School Welding students on Tuesday evening.
The students were honored for their “amazing wins” at the April 4th, Top Wrench Competition held at Crown College.

In all, the team of students won a total cash value prize of $1,900, several Tennessee College of Applied Technology Scholarships (TCAT), as well as tools. They were competing against more than 20 other East Tennessee Schools.
Campbell County High School Welding Instructor Chris Ralston said he was proud of the students for representing CCHS so well.
Landon Lowe took first place in technical welding and Samuel Myers won second in technical welding. Ethan Nelson won first place in live welding and Ethan Kidd earned second place in live welding. Ashlyn Bowling and Laycee Jones won second place in the creative welding art competition.
“This is in addition to the Welding program wins from back in November. You’ve had a great year, and we want to commend you for the great job you’ve done,” said Director of Schools Jennifer Fields.
School Board chair Steve Morgan said a special thanks to CCHS Welding instructor Chris Ralston.
“We a appreciate all the accomplishments of our students. I’m a particular advocate for CTE programs, and hopefully we can expand that,” Morgan said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/15/2024-6AM)
