LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) - A late season cold snap is upon us. Wednesday opened in the 50s though a cold front is making its way across Campbell County this morning, and that will send temperatures cooling through the day into the 30s and 40s. In the highest elevations, there's a brief chance of snow while other areas may see a patch or two of rain this morning.


Mother charged in near fatal accident

JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- A mother is facing multiple counts of vehicular assault, violation of Haley’s Law and DUI after driving her car into a tree severely injuring her three children.

Margo White- Oden, 32, has been charged by the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) following the near fatal accident on April 5.

County commission meeting subdued as controversies appear settled

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) - Last week the Campbell County Commission spent over five hours at a sometimes contentious workshop and a stormy sanitation committee meeting. On Monday night, commission chairman Johnny Bruce predicted that since all the conflicts were worked out in committee, the regular commission meeting would be over in an hour or less.

JACKSBORO, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) - Tuesday night, May 4, 7pm, is the monthly Campbell Outdoor Recreation Association (CORA) meeting at the Campbell County Courthouse.  The public is welcome.  Please wear a mask and distance at six feet apart.  This meeting will include an update on the Elk Tower Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access and replacement plans. The tower is going be wheel chair accessible.
