Campbell County's active COVID-19 count is 44

NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF) - As of Saturday afternoon, the number of PCR positive tests for COVID-19 during the pandemic according to the Tennessee Department of Health is 489, and that includes 446 cases confirmed and probable in Campbell County (an increase of seven since Friday).  Of the cases, 398 are inactive/recovered while 44 patients are recovering and four patients have died.  There have been 10,618 PCR Negative Tests in Campbell County.

Community Prayer Gathering held Saturday morning

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) - A group of pastors organized a special prayer event that was held Saturday morning at Seargeant's Park.  It was a light turnout on what was a foggy, overcast morning.  One of the organizers, Joey St. John, said, "The Community Prayer Gathering was held, because in today's time, our community and nation need prayer."

Jacksboro TCAT Foundation to receive check for local students

NASHVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) - At the groundbreaking of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology campus at Jacksboro, Sen. Ken Yager  (R-Kingston) who was a key supporter of the project, announced he would raise $15,000 in funds for the Jacksboro TCAT Foundation.  On Mon., Sept. 28, Yager will present checks to the foundation, including those from AT&T and Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS), as installments towards fulfilling that pledge.

Wilder goes to jail as a result of LPD's narcotics search warrant

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) - The La Follette Police Drug Unit and Special Response Team with assistance from investigators with the Campbell County Sheriff's Office executed a narcotics search warrant at 907 East Prospect Street just after 9:30 am Thursday morning.  The raid netted 34-year old Tarien Wilder who lives at the Prospect Street mobile home.
