General Election ballot is set

The General Election for Campbell County is Thu., Aug. 1st

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – A total of 22 petitions were picked up for the Aug. 1, 2024 General Election. Of those 22, 16 candidates returned petitions to the election commission office meeting the April 4 noon deadline.

Withdrawal deadline was Thursday, April 11, 2024, at noon. No one who qualified last week dropped from the race, according to Mallory Rosenfeld, administrator of elections.

‘Meet the Candidates’ 2024 presented by WLAF

CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN. (WLAF)- The candidates for property assessor, school board, road superintendent and state representative have visited the WLAF Studio recently to record their portions of the ‘Meet the Candidates’ forum for the 2024 races.

The forum started airing April 22, at 6pm on WLAF-TV 1089 (Comcast). It will air every Monday and Friday on Channel 1089 at 6pm until the August Election.

Delinquent property tax auction list UPDATED Fri., Apr. 26, 11am

It was a packed courthouse for the 2023 delinquent property tax auction.

JACKSBORO, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – As of Fri., Apr. 26, 2024, 11am, HERE is the updated list of property that is on the Clerk & Masters auction block Friday, May 10, 9am, at the Chancery Courtroom of the Campbell County Courthouse.  “This property will be sold at auction for delinquent property taxes,” said Dennis Potter, Campbell County Clerk & Master. It’s for the year 2021 and any previous outstanding years, according to Potter.

“We accept cash or check at the end of the sale.  Participants may also use a credit card which includes a 4% fee,” said Lisa Sanders, Deputy Clerk for the Campbell County Clerk and Masters Office.

Campbell County Divorces April 22-26, 2024

LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- Divorces are public record.

They are public because divorces have an effect on a number of legal affairs. Property ownership, debts, taxes, etc. can all be effected when a couple divorces.
