BRISTOL, TN (WLAF)- The Campbell County High School Marching Cougars won Grand Champions at the Music in the Castle competition at Bristol at Tennessee High School on Saturday! This is the second year in a row for the band to earn the Grand Champions title.
The band earned first competing against 16 other bands, earning 1st place drum major, 1st place in visual and 1st place in General Effect.

Campbell County High School Assistant band director Tiffany Braden said she couldn’t be prouder of the work and dedication the students have put into the performance and improvements over the past month.
“It has been a long week with a lot of hard work involved! I have loved watching the students improve continuously across the past three weeks. The students have absolutely earned the grand champion title!” Braden said.

Over the past week, band students “put a lot of work into the third movement as well as visuals” for their performance.

“Our visual caption put us ahead of the other groups. Visuals are all about marching technique, foot timing, choreography, and the overall theatrical elements of the show! We spent a lot of time on those this week!” Braden said, adding that it had been “amazing to see how far these students have come since July.”
“We look forward to continuing to improve throughout October until our last competition at Alcoa High School!” Braden said.

The final competition is at Alcoa High School on October 25th!
