LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – Officials with La Follette Utilities Board (LUB) said they have received reports of LUB customers being contacted by fraudulent callers claiming to be from LUB. These phony callers are asking for personal information in order for customers to receive a refund. This is a scam.

LUB officials said LUB only makes automated calls for payment reminders during business hours, and that LUB will never ask for bank information or payments over the telephone. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/06/2024-9PM)
