LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The Tower Building on West Central Avenue was built in 1946 just after World War II.

For much of its early years, the building served the automobile industry, in this image you will see the left side is a General Motors dealership and the right side Chrysler- Plymouth. When Economy Motors (the Chevrolet Dealer) was bought out, it became Prewitt – Huddleston Chevrolet, and they had the entire building. Later the dealership become just Huddleston Chevrolet, and in 1974 it moved to its new building beside the Sky Way Drive-In (now Church of God). After that, the Tower Building has served as a carpet sales store, welding fabrication shop, window tint/car wrap and, for a little while, a wrestling arena. Today it is the home of Red Sweat Towing.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/04/2024-6AM)
