Tournament announced at Monday’s county commission meeting

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Morristown Marine Team Trail Bass Tournament is coming to Campbell County on Sat., April 6 at Lonas Young Park.

The event is expected to draw “hundreds of boats to the area,” according to Campbell County Commissioner and Recreation Committee Vice-Chair Dewayne Kitts who made the announcement during Monday’s commission meeting. Kitts asked people to come out and show support for the event.

“Blast off is at safe light and weigh-in starts at 3 pm,” Kitts said.

Kitts said the event is great for the county and will have a “huge economic impact.”

“This tournament will probably bring about 250 to 300 boats to Norris Lake and into the county; that’s a lot of money that will be pouring into the county because of this event,” Kitts said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/19/2024-6AM)
