JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- Following a three-day trial last week, a Campbell County Jury found Roger Lee Rich, formerly of LaFollette, guilty of three counts of rape, three counts of statutory rape by an authority figure, three counts of incest, and two counts of assault.

Eighth Judicial District Criminal Court Judge Zach Walden revoked Rich’s bond as required by law.  Sentencing has been scheduled for May 6.

Rich, originally from Tunnel Hill, GA. was initially arrested in 2018 and had to be extradited back to Campbell County to face the charges.

It was alleged in the indictment Rich had committed the crimes while living in Tennessee over a two month time span in 2017.

The state was assisted in prosecuting the case by the LaFollette Police Department, the Campbell County Children’s Center, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. During the trial, the victim, her family, and witnesses utilized the Safe Space room in the Campbell County Courthouse.  The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys General Lindsey C. Cadle and Apryl Bradshaw.
