JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell County Regional planning commission approved several minor lot subdivisions and one minor lot combination during its monthly meeting on Monday.

All were approved on the recommendation of County Planner Jordan Rockwell, who said there “were no issues” with any of them.

First approved was a minor lot subdivision for Randy Huff/Ray Heatherly on Stiner Lane.

Next approved was a minor lot combination for Douglas Bloor on Yoakum Hollow Road.

A minor lot subdivision was approved for James Medley on Middlesboro Road, Davis Chapel Road and Maple Drive, and a minor lot subdivision for Dan Boshears on Island Ford Road was approved as well.

In other business, the county planning commission discussed a Property Owner’s Association document template establishing ownership and maintenance of Joint Permanent Easements and commonly held property, for inclusion into the county’s subdivision regulations.

“We already require that, but putting this amendment into the regulations will give us a little more meat,” Rockwell said.

He said banks are “hesitant to even lend on lots off an easement, because the maintenance is always murky on it.”

“So this is trying to set the parameters on that,” Rockwell said.

According to Rockwell, he plans to bring the issue back up at next month’s meeting in the form of a “proper amendment.”

“Next month we will vote to have a public hearing on it, which will most likely be sometime in May,” Rockwell said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/05/2024-6AM)
