JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- Larry Lovitt’s attempted murder case has been resolved. Yesterday, in criminal court, he was sentenced for shooting a White Oak woman in Feb. 2023.

Initially charged with five crimes, Lovitt pleaded guilty to attempted second degree murder and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. He was sentenced to serve eight years in prison at 30 percent, according to court records. Lovitt, 30, of Jellico, received 19 days of jail credit for the days he served following the arrest.

In Feb. 2023, police were alerted to a shooting at a home on Little White Oak Road in White Oak.

Lovitt, the accused shooter, was in the car that drove the woman to LaFollette Medical Center, where he was met and detained by police, the report said.

The victim was airlifted to a Knoxville hospital.

Lovitt was arrested following the incident.
