On this Grand Week, The Grand on Central features the encouraging words of Judy Balloff

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Judy Balloff (being introduced by Rissa Pryse in top photo) could be summed up in a few words- instant inspiration. The energetic Balloff, wife of La Follette native David Balloff, recently revved up a crowd of 25 people attending last Thursday’s Lunch and Learn at the La Follette Methodist Church.

Judy Balloff shared the Five Cs of leadership.

Life for the career banker turned author and speaker has not been all smiles and handshakes. Not that many years ago, Balloff underwent a heart surgery that put her out of commission for the better part of three months. During the surgery, she suffered five strokes robbing her of the use of her right hand, her sense of balance as well as her ability to read and write and of her complex thinking. However, Balloff was able to return to work in about 10 weeks.

At the Lunch and Learn, she shared the Five Cs of leadership. Each C she shared contained a Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, principle.

1- Care is showing enormous care for your team; faith in your team.

2- Contribute is focused and accurate thinking.

3- Coach does not come without the cooperation of others.

4- Congratulate is going the extra mile by showing that people are valued.

5- Connect is teamwork about your business goals.

Attendees scored themselves on their leadership abilities on the Leadership Wheel.

The first book written by Balloff is 365 Days of Abundance- how to create a life of wealth, happiness, wisdom and inspiration through the 12 universal laws, the principles of success and His divine word. She sold and autographed several copies of that book on Thursday afternoon and her other books, Flipping the Script on Negativity and The Abundance Journal. “I’ve written three books, and I have three more to write,” said Balloff.

David and Judy Balloff

Balloff and her husband, David, have been living back in the area for a couple of years, and Balloff’s visit was hosted by family friend Rissa Pryse with Terry’s Pharmacy. “I just love being back here (La Follette). This is home,” said David Balloff.
