LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – It was an evening of great food, great music, dancing, and support of art and culture at Postmark LaFollette’s Mardi Gras Masquerade fundraising event held Saturday at The Stables. It was the first of hopefully “many more to come,” according to Postmark officials.

The Campbell County High School Brass Ensemble gave a rousing opening performance before headliner Second Wind took the stage and tons of people danced the night away.

State Senator Ken Yager attended the event and spoke briefly about his belief in Postmark’s vision and support of their many community projects and art outreaches.

Former Campbell High Band Director Don Hendricks and the Campbell County High School Brass Ensemble performed at Saturday’s Mardi Gras Masquerade held by Postmark LaFollette at the Stables.

“I remember touring the building and hearing about Postmark’s vision, and I knew I would do all I can to support this endeavor. To see how far it has come is wonderful and what they do, allowing people to experience the arts is a great thing and worthy of supporting,” Yager said.

He also said Postmark LaFollette is unique in what it’s doing and that in all the districts he represented, it is the “only organization of its kind.”

Postmark LaFollette Co-founder Karen Cumorich addressed the audience briefly thanking them for their support of Postmark and all it does in the community.

LaFollette Housing Authority Director John Snodderly was recognized for his board’s efforts in obtaining the old LaFollette Post office building and working with Postmark LaFollette. Snodderly was crowned King of the Mardi Gras Masquerade by Cumorich.

“Postmark LaFollette does wonderful things in our community … It was truly a win for everyone involved,” Snodderly said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/12/2024-6AM)
