LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – This is a look back to the 1950s and the Western Auto Associate Store on North Tennessee Avenue. It was owned by W.C. “Bill” Thompson and J.E. “Jim” Reynolds. The store was beside Smith & Russell Grocery Store.
The Western Auto moved from North Tennessee Avenue to the corner of East Central and South Indiana Avenues in the early 1960s; the store that many of you will remember.
The store remain there until the late 1990s, when the building was razed and a bank was built on the site. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/08/2024-6AM)
