HALLS, TN (WLAF) – Your Campbell Cougars traveled to Halls on Monday night to duel the Red Devils, a team that defeated the Orange-and-Blue 66-57 on Brown Court earlier in the year.

Halls and Campbell traded blows early. In the second quarter, the Cougars fell behind Halls 26-18. At this point though, Campbell’s offense ignited to outscore Halls 11-0 in the next three minutes. This run, due mostly in part to six straight points from Gavin Cox, gave Campbell a 29-28 lead. At the mid-game break, Halls jumped back in front 33-30.

Luke Browning got the second half fun started by draining a three ball to tie the game at 33. Then Jordan Day hit a three of his own to give Campbell the 36-33 lead. Keegan Nelson and Gavin Cox sank some critical baskets late in the third to put Campbell on top at the end of the quarter 49-48.

Halls started off the fourth quarter strong, jumping out to a 59-53 lead with 4:39 to go in the game.

With over three minutes to go, Halls further expanded their lead to nine. Campbell was unable to catch up in the remaining minutes. The Red Devils handed Campbell their fifth loss in a row, 75-60.
