Ankle injury in Jan. 8 South Doyle game forced Lacey Pemberton out of action until Tue.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Lacey Pemberton (top photo) came out of the locker room with a big smile and thumbs up ahead of Tuesday’s practice and rightfully so. She’d been cleared to return to the basketball court about an hour before.

Postponed games came at just the right time where a recovering Pemberton is concerned. The Campbell post player turned her ankle in the last game the Lady Cougars played, a Jan. 8 home win over South Doyle. Pemberton was cleared to return to the court just before Tuesday afternoon’s practice. “Good to have her back. For sure,” said Campbell Head Coach Jason Kitts.

Practice has been limited for the Lady Cougars, Sun., Jan. 14, Mon. and Tue. of this week. There’s no team practice today though some Lady Cougars will go through individual workouts. “We’ll be back on the floor practicing as a team on Thursday at 5pm,” said the coach.

“She (Pemberton) did well for the most part at her first practice back. I limited her rotation a lot, and she still favored it (her ankle) some. By the end of practice she was starting to get comfortable on it. So hopefully she will be better Thursday, the next practice,” said Coach Kitts.

Campbell hosts Central on Friday night, Homecoming, at Brown Gym. The WLAF-Doyle’s Tire Shop Sports Network has all the live televised coverage over the WLAF-Lindsay’s Carpet & Paint Center video player beginning at 6pm. Josh Parker and Clayton Carroll describe the action while Matthew Moore and Aaron Hopkins send you the telecast.
