CVFD and LRS first responders rescue a man before he and his truck go down an embankment.

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Snow, ice, sub-freezing temperatures and the darkness of early morning created quite the challenge for first responders with the Caryville Volunteer Fire Department and La Follette Rescue Squad’s Rescue 8.

At 3:52 Monday morning, as snow fell, the driver of a pick-up truck slid off Memory Lane and into a driveway. The situation quickly became precarious, because the truck was poised to head down an embankment, and the driver was forced to stay with his vehicle.

First responders were able to leave the man behind the wheel of his truck and then turn his vehicle around. He was able to drive away, according to officials. There were no injuries.

In addition to the CVFD and LRS, the Campbell Sheriff’s Office responded. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/15/2024-6AM)
