One person airlifted following motor vehicle accident at Vasper

Ridgewood Volunteer Fire Dept., Caryville Volunteer Fire Dept., Campbell EMS and THP respond

These vehicles wrecked on Highway 116 and ended up above the road near I-75.

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – An afternoon wreck involving two vehicles and one person injured happened on Highway 116 on Monday.

The mishap occurred on the east side of the road just before the Vasper underpass. A female patient was transported by Campbell County EMS to the Caryville Ballfield and was airlifted from there to a Knoxville hospital.

Responding to the 2:44pm wreck were the Caryville Volunteer Fire Department, Campbell County EMS, Ridgewood Volunteer Fire Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/08/2024-5PM-UPDATED – 01/09/2024-4AM)
