LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – LaFollette Police Officer Dillion Marney was recently traveling on North Indiana Avenue when he saw a white Honda Civic with a passenger side headlight out. It was near midnight on Mon., Dec. 18, when Marney stopped the vehicle and saw the passenger Trevor Alan White throw an object out of the window, according to the report from the LaFollette Police Department.  

Officer Marney was able to identify the item as a Meth pipe. Marney was joined by patrolman Zack Daugherty who instructed the driver Kenneth Scott Hatmaker to step out of the vehicle. During a search of Hatmaker, a pipe with burned residue was found in his pocket. Inside the vehicle Daugherty discovered one container in between the driver’s seat and center console which held a clear crystal substance believed to be Methamphetamine. The driver side door panel had a green container in it that contained an orange powder substance that Hatmaker stated was Suboxone.

Hatmaker and White were both arrested and transported to the Campbell County Jail. During the intake of White, Sheriff’s Corrections Officer Brandon Atha found a bag containing a clear crystal-like substance believed to be Methamphetamine in White’s crotch.

White, 29, 895 Old Middlesboro Hwy, LaFollette was charged with possession drug paraphernalia, tampering with or fabricating evidence, possession of schedule II controlled substance and introduction or possession in penal institution.

Hatmaker, 39, 2392 South Highway 25W, LaFollette was charged with violation light law, driving on revoked/suspended, possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of schedule III controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/04/2024-6AM)
