Mr. Jimmy “Dad” Minton of LaFollette passed away Thursday. December 14, 2023.  He was of the Baptist faith and a proud U.S. Army Veteran receiving the Bronze Star for his dedicated service for our Country.  Jimmy was a loving Husband of 34 years, and deeply loved his Children, Grandchildren, and Great-Grandchildren.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling to Gatlinburg.  Preceded in death by Parents, Arthur Minton, Jr. and Mary Minton; Brothers, Jerry Minton, Denny Minton, Mike Minton, and Ricky Minton.

Survivors: Wife, Janet Coffey Minton; Daughters, Coni Letner and Husband, Emmit, Donna Moore and Husband, Kyle, and Hollie Minton; Sons, Travis Byrd and Wife, Susanna, and Trever Byrd and Wife, Brittany; Grandchildren, Cory Minton, Ryan Morris, Sammy Morris, Mason Minton, Haeden Shears, Channing Shears, Zoe Deinhart, Ethan Byrd, and Evan Byrd; Great-Grandchildren, Colten Morris, Bentley Morris, Max Morris, Jordyn Morris, Raiden Minton, Hunter Bragg, and Brody Clear; Mother-in-law, Bobbie Coffey; Brother-in-law, Jimmy Coffey. Several Nieces, Nephews, other relative and friends. 

The family would like to express a special Thank You to Bobbie Coffey, Coni Letner, Jimmy Coffey, Sammy Morris, Mason Minton, Trever and Brittany Byrd, Travis Byrd, and Brenda Byrd for all the love and support given to Jimmy and Janet during his time of sickness.  It is something that will not be forgotten.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, 7:00 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wade Walls officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Monday before funeral services.  Family and friends will meet Tuesday, December 19, 2023, 11:15 A.M. at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Peabody Cemetery for 12:00 P.M. Graveside Services and Interment.  Military Honors will be conducted by the Honor Guard of Campbell County.  Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Jimmy “Dad” Minton.
