Minnie “Jean” Smith, age 76 of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 11, 2023, at her home. She was born on July 30, 1947, to the late Clarence and Erma Seibers. Jean was a loving wife of 52 years, mother, and grandmother, that enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed scrapbooking and writing stories.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Edward Seibers; sisters Dessie Ward and Carolyn Seibers.

Jean is survived by her loving husband Billy Smith; son Jerome Smith and Sara of Knoxville; daughter Carol Smith of Knoxville; sisters Rachel Ward and Jerry of Tennessee and Barbara Seibers of Caryville; sister-in-law Sue Seibers of Pioneer; grandchildren Rylee, Reagan, and Aubree; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM on Friday, December 15, 2023 at New Canaan Baptist Church with the funeral services to follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jacob Cochran officiating. Interment to follow the funeral service at New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery.
