It was a defensive stalemate for the first minute and a half of the game. Bella Lester broke the ice, and tallied the first points of the game from the free throw line. Campbell proceeded to jump ahead of Karns 6-0. The Lady Beavers would respond however, getting their first points on the board courtesy of the long ball with 3:39 to go in the first. The Lady Cougars continued to make their livin’ from their stellar defense. They led Karns after one 9-5.

In the 2nd quarter, after the Lady Cougars jumped out in front of the Beavers 15-10, Karns knotted things up at 15 with 4:12 to go in the second. With three minutes to go in the half, the Lady Beavers took their first lead of the contest thanks to the three ball, 18-17. Karns ended the half on a 12-2 run, leading your Lady Cougars 27-19.

Campbell ended the run with their first shot of the third quarter, that being a Saylor Hutcheson long ball. This however, would be the only bright spot for the Orange-and-Blue in the third, as the Lady Beavers outscored Campbell 22-10 in the third quarter, increasing their lead further to 49-29.

Karns would continue to hit shot-after-shot in the fourth. Campbell could do nothing to thwart the attack from the Lady Beavers. Karns handed Campbell their first defeat of the year: final score 69-37.

From the 4:02 mark in the 2nd quarter, Karns outscored the Lady Cougars 54-22.

Campbell falls to 8-1 (1-1 in District 3 AAAA) on the year, while Karns improves to 4-4 (2-0 in district play).

Leading all scorers for your Lady Cougars was Lacey Pemberton with 11 points. Pemberton was also your local realtor Gage Dople Player of the Game. Carley Kitts tallied seven. Bella Lester and Saylor Hutcheson both had five points apiece. Destiny Rutherford scored three points.   Reagan Stanfill had 3 points. Preslee Chapman contributed two points two the scoring column, and Reagan Davis scored one point.
