JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – For the first time since the 2020-2021 season, the Anderson County Mavericks made a trip from exit 122 to exit 134 to battle against your Cougars. Campbell was in the midst of a four game losing streak, and was looking to get back in the winning column against the 2 and 4 Anderson County Mavericks.

Watch Clayton Carroll’s and Josh Parker’s call of the Lady Cougars’ and Cougars’ games HERE on demand over WLAF.

It was a roller coaster of a first quarter. At the end of the first, the Mavericks led the Orange-and-Blue by a score of 15-13.

With a minute to go in the first half, Campbell trailed the Mavs by three. Anderson County then exploded for a 6-0 run, leading the Cougars 31-22 at half.

After a heated 3rd quarter that involved a Maverick technical foul, the Cougars still trailed by nine, 47-38. No matter what run Campbell would have , Anderson would answer right back.

In the fourth, Anderson would add to their lead, defeating the Cougars 63- 50.

With the loss, Campbell drops its fifth game in a row, after starting the year 3 and 0.

Leading the scoring column for the Orange-and-blue was Luke Browning with 19 points. Gavin Cox racked up 11 points. The identical Day twins, Jordan and Logan, had identical scoring numbers with 8 apiece. Tyler Kitts and Gabe St. John rounded out the scoring column with 2.
