JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- After a two day trial, a Campbell County Jury found Derrick James Lay, of Newcomb, guilty of multiple drug related crimes.

The jury determined Lay was guilty of one count of one count of possession of Oxymorphone, a schedule II controlled substance with intent to sell, one count of possession of Oxymorphone, a schedule II controlled substance with intent to deliver, one count of sale of Oxymorphone, a schedule II controlled substance, one count of delivery of Oxymorphone, a schedule II controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon,

Lay’s bond was revoked following the guilty verdict. Sentencing has been scheduled for Feb. 5, 2024. Prosecutors on the case were Assistant District Attorneys General Blake A. Mullins and Lindsey C. Cadle. They were assisted in prosecuting the case by the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Lt.
