Kayla Rains, Linda Prim, Ryan Browning honored

These dedicated individuals have displayed unwavering commitment to their students, schools, and community.

Elementary Educator of the Year: Kayla Rains 

Kayla Rains, a 5th grade ELA/Social Studies teacher at Jacksboro Elementary School, embodies the essence of a passionate educator. She builds enduring bonds with her students, treating them as family. Kayla’s emphasis on fostering relationships has led to exceptional student growth and proficiency. She instills a love for reading, encourages class discussions, and creates a culture where mistakes are seen as opportunities to learn and grow. Beyond her classroom, Kayla actively mentors, collaborates, and shares her expertise. Her humility and commitment to improvement make her a remarkable representative for the elementary level.

Middle School Educator of the Year: Linda Prim 

Linda Prim, a school counselor at LaFollette Middle School, has dedicated an impressive 25 years to nurturing students’ academic, social, and emotional well-being. She champions a “college-going culture” within her school, organizes field trips, and coordinates with other schools in the district to ensure eighth-grade students benefit. Linda’s efforts have led to her school’s designation as a Path to College School for five consecutive years. She’s made significant contributions to mental health awareness, actively seeks professional development, and collaborates with the community. Linda’s emphasis on kindness and character education enriches the school’s climate. Her lifelong commitment to learning and community collaboration makes her an exceptional representative for the middle school level.

High School Educator of the Year: Ryan Browning 

Ryan Browning, a high school teacher known for his genuine passion for education, consistently supports students in and out of the classroom. He believes teaching is a way of life. Ryan ensures every student feels valued, incorporating real-world government positions into classroom discussions. His positive role modeling resonates in his teaching, extracurricular involvement, and community service. Ryan actively mentors new teachers, assists seasoned educators with technology, and shares his extensive knowledge.
