It was much of the same in the second quarter. At halftime, the Orange-and-Blue led the slightly brighter shade of orange-and-blue, William Blount Lady Governors, 23-13.
William Blount would outscore Campbell 8-7 in the third quarter, making the score 30-21 after three.
The Lady Govs mounted a comeback against Campbell in the fourth though after the Lady Cougars built their lead to 13 at 35-22 with a little more than five minutes to play. William Blount went on a 9-0 run, cutting the lead down to five with just over three minutes to go. The game was set up for a thrilling finish, and a thrilling finish it was. Blount whittled the lead down to two with just over 10 seconds to go. Blount had a look from three and missed it, which allowed Campbell County to hang on for the win 42-40.
The Lady Cougar victory, which ended with the same final score that the last meeting between the two teams had in 2021, improves Campbell’s record to 5-0 for the first time since 2018.

Blount expanded its lead throughout the second quarter, leading Campbell County by a score of 41-15 at halftime.
The Cougars would outscore William Blount 26-12 in the third quarter, trailing the Governors 53-41 at the end of that quarter.
Campbell would not be able to complete the comeback though, as the Cougars fell to the Governors 68-57.
Luke Browning, who was your local relator Gage Dople Player of the Game, led the Cougars in scoring with 15 points. Gavin Cox had 13. Jordan Day scored 12. Logan Day tallied seven. Tyler Kitts and Gavin Owens both accounted for five points apiece.
