JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – During the Sherry Bostic (Chapman) era in the mid-1980s, Campbell Lady Cougar Basketball did its share of blistering opponents. I can’t recall a time broadcasting their games when they held a team to seven points for an entire game. However, it was not uncommon for Coach Rick Hunley’s teams to shutout an opponent for maybe a quarter and keep their total to under 20 points. The seven points allowed West by Campbell may be a new school record for fewest points scored by an opponent.

The Lady Cougars defeated West 64-7 on the opening night of the Lady Cougar Thanksgiving Classic. Campbell, now 3 & 0, hosts the Greenback Cherokees Wednesday night at 7:30. WLAF’s Clayton Carroll sends you all the live coverage over the WLAF – Doyle’s Tire Sports Network.

Freshman Preslee Chapman was tops for the game with 13 points earning her Local Realtor Gage Dople “Player of the Game” honors. Saylor Hutchison added 11 while Abby Paul scored eight as five points a piece came from Carley Kitts, Reagan Stanfill and Aleah Woodson. Bella Lester tallied four points with Reagan Davis chipping in three and two from Lacey Pemberton. Destiny Rutherford played and did not score.
