Edward C. Finke passed on November 17, 2023. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on June 19, 1964 to the late Harry F. Finke, Jr. and Patricia Halpin Finke. He was a graduate of Wright State University and then obtained his Master’s Degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology. He retired after 30 years of federal service from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Finke, and mother-in-law, Joyce Sue Winters (Fry).

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Teresa Finke (Winters); daughter, Amanda Finke; siblings Harry (Leanne), Laurie, David (Debbie), Stephen (Christine), MiSue Tolle (Mick), Bill (Julie); sister-in-law Kim Finke; step-mother, Carol Schneider Finke; father-in-law, Franklin Winters; brothers-in-law, Frank Winters and John Winters (Lori). He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A service will be held in the St. Henry Memorial Chapel on December 1 at 10:00 at Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Drive, Dayton, OH 45409. Burial will follow at St. Kateri Preserve for Natural Burial.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you support his love for the outdoors and his passion for birds (especially hummingbirds) by setting up a bird feeder, planting a tree or wildflowers, or making a donation to the Dayton Audubon Society or the Hanley Sustainability Institute of the University of Dayton.
